ABOUT WENDY
I was born in Minneapolis to middle-class parents who were both World War II veterans. Growing up in Minnesota and Hawaii (the latter from 4th grade through high school), I spent a lot of time outdoors observing the tiniest insects on up the chain to horses, which I love. My husband of 45 years was a reporter for most of his career, so we moved a lot. We raised four accomplished children in Western Washington State. We now have nine grandchildren. I worked a wide variety of jobs; everything from home health care, construction crew cleanup, office administration, treasurer for campaigns, and assisting with FHA building inspections. My love of country and interest in all things political came from my father. My love of writing, music, art and nature I attribute to my mother, who was a composer, musician and singer, performing for a local radio station when we lived in Minneapolis. Returning to the Midwest was a homecoming.

An Informed Voter Is a Powerful Voter

What: An open forum with questions for the candidates for the District 8 seat now held by retiring Supervisor Dean Bergseng
Why: So Pierce County voters can make an informed choice. Join us at the forum!
This is a nonpartisan election, and the forum will be conducted in a nonpartisan format. The forum will be moderated by Bob Ebert of Beldenville, WI for the good of the citizens of Pierce County. Bob Ebert can be contacted at windmill.winds@gmail.com.
WHY AM I RUNNING?
Maintaining and restoring as we can our natural resources is so important for the future of this community, for the future of farming in this community. My heart is in the land. It was home for my parents, grandparents and great-grandparents who first came here from Sweden and other European countries to farm.
I don't pretend to have all the answers, but I am not afraid to ask questions, to research and stay connected to this community so people are informed and have a voice on the issues that they are concerned about. If elected, I won't be doing this alone. I will have a community of people to collaborate with for a brighter future for all.
WHAT MY FOCUS IS:
Protecting groundwater and natural resources
Community access to mental health care
Food security
